Welcome to my site!

This site is meant primarily for friends and relatives, as I'm not egotistical enough to believe that anyone else would be interested!  Anyway, here you’ll find my personal biography, pictures of my friends, as well as pages dedicated to my passions in life, travel, fitness, photography, my guitar and Buddhism.

About Me:
I was born many moons ago in January, 1953 in London, UK.  I went to an excellent public school, but after some distaught teenage years, I dropped out and was drawn into the hippy movement of the late 60s and early 70s.  These years were particularly significant in that during that time I came into contact with the ideas and philosophies of the East, notably Buddhism.  This led to the second phase of my life, an intense involvement with Tibetan Buddhism.  Eventually, though, I became disillusioned with the over-powerful role of the lamas and became an independent practioner, which I still am today.  At this juncture I decided to finish my education as a mature student, being fortunate enough to gain admittance to Oxford University, where I studied History.

Since graduation in 1993, I have developed a career as an English teacher, which has taken me to places as far afield as Slovakia, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan and Sri Lanka.  I had five wonderful years in Japan, and then four in Thailand, two of my favourite countries.  However, now I'm working in Bahrain, my first ever job in the Middle East.
